What is Corflute?

Corflute is fluted polypropylene: two flat polypropylene walls joined by thin ribs, so the board is mostly air. That makes it light and stiff in one direction and easy to cut. The name is a trade name that has become the everyday word for the material.

Sheets made for printing have a surface treatment so inks adhere; tell us if you need print-ready board.

Key properties

  • Light and waterproof

Corflute does not absorb water, rot or go soggy, so it suits outdoor signs and wet sites.

  • Cheap and tough

It is one of the lowest-cost sign boards and takes knocks without cracking.

  • Easy to cut

Corflute cuts with a sharp knife or blade, and can be scored and folded across the flutes.

  • Stiffer one way

The flutes make it stiffer along their length, so run them vertically on a sign that has to stand in the wind.

  • Print-ready grades

Treated sheet accepts screen and digital print; ask for print-ready board if that is the plan.

Typical uses

  • Real estate, election and event signs

    Blank sheet for printed signs.

  • A-frame sign panels

    Blank inserts for A-frames.

  • Floor and surface protection

Protects floors, benchtops and glass during building work.

  • Packaging and dividers

Reusable boxes, dividers and layer pads.

  • Plant guards and school projects

Light, cheap and easy to cut.
