Corflute sheet for signs
Corflute is twin-wall fluted polypropylene: very light, waterproof and cheap to print, which is why it carries most temporary signs in New Zealand, from real estate and election signs to site safety and event wayfinding.
Plastics Hub NZ supplies blank sheet to sign makers, printers and anyone making their own signs. We do not print signs.

Thickness
Thinner sheet is lighter and cheaper for short-term indoor and handheld signs. Thicker sheet stays flatter in wind and suits stakes and outdoor signs that must last a season.
Flute direction
The flutes run one way. Run them vertically for H-frame and wire stakes, which slide into the flutes, and plan any folds along the flutes.
Outdoors
Polypropylene does not absorb water or rot. Print and inks set how long a sign lasts in full sun, so ask your printer about UV-stable inks for long runs.
Fixing
Stakes, cable ties through punched holes, eyelets, or double-sided tape rated for low-energy plastics. Ordinary tapes and many glues do not grip polypropylene.
Real estate and election signs
Corflute is the standard board for real estate and election signs: light enough to stake into a berm or cable-tie to a fence, cheap enough to print in volume, and easy to store between campaigns. Election signs must follow the Electoral Commission's rules, including a promoter statement, and your council's rules on size, placement and dates, so check both before you print.
Questions
- Can corflute be printed on?
- Yes. Digital flatbed printers and screen printers print directly onto corflute. The surface is usually treated for ink adhesion; check with your printer which finish they want.
- How do I cut corflute?
- A sharp utility knife and a steel rule cut it cleanly, along or across the flutes. Use a fresh blade, and keep the knife upright so the two walls are cut together.
- What thickness of corflute suits real estate and election signs?
- Thicker sheet for staked signs that stand in the wind for weeks, such as real estate boards; thinner sheet for handheld, fence-mounted and short-term signs. Ask your printer which thickness their stakes and frames take.
