Replacement panels for A-frame and footpath signs
A worn or out-of-date A-frame does not need a whole new frame: most sandwich boards and footpath signs take flat insert panels that slide into channels or fix to the face. Corflute, ACM and PVC foam board are the usual panel sheets.
Plastics Hub NZ supplies blank sheet only. We do not sell finished signs or frames, and we do not print. Your sign maker or printer adds the graphics.
Shop the sheet
Corflute for frequent changes
Fluted polypropylene is the lightest and cheapest panel, which suits menus, specials and promotions that change often. It flexes, so it works best in frames that hold it on all sides.
ACM for a sign that stays
Aluminium composite panel stays flat and sharp in wind, sun and rain, so it suits permanent footpath signs and branded A-frames that are out every day.
PVC foam for indoor and covered use
PVC foam board is rigid, smooth and easy to print, a good middle ground for signs under a veranda or inside a shopfront. It is heavier than corflute and can dent if knocked.
Measure the frame, not the old panel
Measure the inside of the channel or the face you fix to, and the panel thickness the channel takes. A panel that is too thick will not slide in; too thin and it rattles in the wind.
Footpath rules
Councils set rules for signs on the footpath, such as where they can stand and how much clear walkway they must leave. Check your council's rules before you put one out.
Questions
- Do you sell A-frame signs?
- No. Plastics Hub NZ supplies blank sheet for the panels only. Frames, printing and finished signs come from your sign maker.
- Can you cut panels to fit my A-frame?
- Cutting is available on certain materials at certain depots. Request a quote with your sizes and we'll confirm. Send the inside size of the frame and the panel thickness it takes.
