Sneeze-guard sheet
Counter screens, food-display shields and reception sneeze guards are made from clear acrylic or polycarbonate sheet, mounted in stands, clamps or a frame.
Plastics Hub NZ supplies the sheet. Your shopfitter or installer makes and fits the guard: we supply material only.
Shop the sheet
Acrylic
Clearer and more scratch-resistant, and the usual choice for counters and food displays where staff and customers look through it all day.
Polycarbonate
Much harder to break, for screens that get bumped, leaned on or moved often, such as in schools, gyms and events.
Keeping it clear
Clean with warm water and mild detergent or a cleaner made for plastics. Alcohol, ammonia and solvent sprays can craze acrylic over time.
Fixing
Use clamps, stands or channels made for sheet of your thickness, and keep hardware away from the very edge of acrylic, where it is most likely to crack.

Questions
- Acrylic or polycarbonate for a sneeze guard?
- Acrylic for clarity and scratch resistance on a fixed counter; polycarbonate where the screen is likely to be knocked or dropped.
- Can I disinfect an acrylic sneeze guard?
- Use a disinfectant that the maker says is safe for acrylic, or a mild detergent solution. Alcohol-based sprays used repeatedly can cause fine cracking.
