Sheet for display cases
Display cases, cabinet doors, model covers and retail risers are usually made from clear acrylic, with PETG or polycarbonate where the case will be bent, formed or knocked about.
Plastics Hub NZ supplies the sheet to shopfitters, display makers and DIY builders. We do not make display cases.

Acrylic for clarity
Cast acrylic gives the clearest, most glass-like case and its edges polish to a clear finish. It is bonded with solvent cement for near-invisible joints.
PETG for formed and folded displays
PETG bends cold or with gentle heat without cracking, so it suits folded covers, point-of-sale and food-display shields that are formed rather than glued.
Polycarbonate for knocks
Polycarbonate is far tougher than acrylic and suits cases in busy public spaces. It scratches more easily, so it is a choice for strength rather than looks.
Thickness
Small covers and risers use thinner sheet; larger cases and anything that carries weight need thicker sheet to stay rigid. Allow for the thickness in your joint design.

Questions
- Can acrylic display cases be glued?
- Yes. Acrylic is joined with a solvent cement made for acrylic, which welds the surfaces together. Joints need square, clean edges; your display maker or a plastics fabricator can do this.
- Will a display case go yellow?
- Good-quality acrylic stays clear for many years indoors. Polycarbonate without a UV-protected surface yellows faster in sunlight.
