- Is PTFE food-safe?
- Virgin PTFE grades are widely accepted for food and pharmaceutical contact. Filled and reprocessed grades are not automatically compliant, so confirm the grade before specifying it.
- Why choose filled PTFE?
- Glass, carbon or bronze fillers sharply reduce creep and wear while keeping most of PTFE's chemical resistance. Filled grades are the usual choice for loaded bearings and dynamic seals.
- Can PTFE be glued?
- Not without preparation. PTFE must be chemically etched before bonding, so most assemblies rely on mechanical clamping instead.
